Rule 30 explorer

Explore Rule 30 from a single black cell, up to 128 rows.

Try it

Choose how many rows to draw. Rule 30 starts with one black cell in the center; each new cell follows left XOR (center OR right) from the row above it. The center readout follows the original seed position.

The browser demo shows up to 128 rows and also prints the center sequence as text. This is a finite view of the research question about its long-term behavior.

Rule 30, one row at a time

Start with one black cell. Each new cell depends on the three cells immediately above it.
